Halloween costumes have also been heavily influenced on piracy. Have you ever dressed up as a pirate?
After examining the violence of piracy, is it acceptable to have babies dressed as them? This of course is once again fueled by the narrative that the media has woven.
Several of these costumes are also over sexualized. Do you think there is any disconnect from how female pirates of the Caribbean were vs how they are displayed in these costumes?
I encourage you to look more into the aspect of the actual history of an era vs the costumes made to represent that period, it is very interesting. With pirates, there are plenty of more costumes (even some that are not class appropriate to share) that have this disconnect from history. When does the line from villains of history to halloween costume start?

Captain Morgan rum is another example of how we have been influenced through media and consumerism. Using a pirate mascot, it has led rum to be heavily connected with piracy.
